UFO Alters Polaris Missile Tracking

Location: Cape Canaveral, FL

A US Navy Polaris missile was launched from a ground pad. A flying disk, whose diameter was close to the length of the Polaris, altered its tracking, but did not block the missile firing, since the tracking system continued to follow the object and later returned to again to track the Polaris downrange. The diameter of the disk was approximately 20' to 25' and it was about 6' to 8' thick at its center. Not big enough for a normal human to be comfortable within.

It was visually lost to ground observers, and primary witness, Clark McClelland with 10x50 binoculars, at the Cape as it continued downrange.

The original investigation was conducted by McClelland and his Florida NICAP subcommittee.

The following report was submitted:

I spoke with the PAA Security Guards after it had been observed. I gave PAA a blank NICAP UFO Report Form. The disk altered the tracking, it did not block it because the tracking system continued to follow the disk, and later returned to again track the Polaris downrange. It was larger in diameter, and its diameter was close to the length of the Polaris. In other words, it was a disk, and not tubular like the body of the Polaris. The diameter was approximately 20' to 25' in diameter and a width of perhaps 6' to 8' feet at its center. Not big enough for a normal human to be comfortable within.

It was visually lost to ground observers and I with my 10x50 binoculars at the Cape as it continued downrange, but departed the Polaris causing the temporary loss of tracking. I did see it depart.
